Alum Creek Habitat Restoration Volunteer Days – Fall 2026
Join Green Bexley’s Love Your Alley and Friends of Alum Creek and Tributaries (FACT) as we work together to restore the native woodland along Alum Creek!
Volunteer Dates
Sundays • 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
September 27
October 25
November 29
December 13
Volunteer for one or more two-hour shifts—stay as long as you’d like! Whether you can join us for a couple of hours or the entire day, your help makes a difference.
These restoration days will be led by invasive species specialist Peter Harrington of Native Landscaping & Consulting. Peter will teach volunteers how to identify and remove invasive plants such as honeysuckle, English ivy, wintercreeper, porcelain berry, and others. No experience is necessary!
On some volunteer days, we’ll also be planting native shrubs to help restore the woodland. It’s a great opportunity to learn about local ecology, work alongside your community, and make a lasting impact on one of our community’s most treasured natural areas.
Meeting Location
We’ll meet at the Bexley Dog Park.
Parking
You may park in the Gateway Parking Lot (across from Moshi Sushi) or on Astor Avenue near the new skatepark.
From the Gateway Parking Lot: Walk south on the trail until you see the volunteer group.
From Astor Avenue: Walk toward Alum Creek, then head north on the trail until you see the group. We won’t be far!
